Matrix Providers is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS/ARRT) to become a part of our dedicated team, delivering healthcare services to our Military Service Members and their families at Fort Cavazos in Killeen, TX!

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Compensation: Hourly, paid bi-weekly

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA.
  • Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must be certified by either the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or the American Registry of Clinical Radiography Technologists.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience as a radiologic technologist within the past two years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Correlate the patient's clinical history with the requested examination and review results from prior diagnostic tests to ensure alignment with the ultrasound study.
  • Consult with staff physicians in various specialties (e.g., obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology, and surgery) regarding the patient's medical history, preliminary diagnosis, and condition to coordinate with the ultrasound examination.
  • Recognize normal anatomic variations and changes due to medical and surgical procedures.
  • Document patient arrival and departure, as well as completed tests in accordance with MTF policy. Send the appropriate image series to the radiologist for interpretation as per MTF protocol.
  • Perform system warm-ups, calibrations, and quality control tasks according to manufacturer and MTF policy. Identify artifacts and equipment errors and report outlying values to designated Government personnel.
  • Explain the examination process to the patient, assisting them in assuming the necessary position for the procedure.
  • Assist in compiling and archiving records of completed procedures.
  • Observe and report any adverse reactions or symptoms to the radiologist, as well as any conditions requiring immediate attention. Recognize critical respiratory or cardiac situations and initiate emergency measures as necessary.
  • Identify abnormalities during testing and determine if additional scans are required for affected areas.
